"Those people are gonna d!e up there if something's not done. I blame TJ Dettwiler for this!"
The efforts generated by the spectrum in the structure are absolute values, which cannot be combined with gravitational loads (which have a sign convention according to the direction of the force). How can you give a sign to the forces generated by the spectrum and be able to combine them with gravitational charges and so on?
Why in Mdesign equation, R is not divided by I like the base shear equation
can we assume (x/L)^2 as a shape function on those example from AK chopra , what are other condition which may affect on selecting the shape funciton except boundary condition??
how do we decide a push over displacement in a four storey building?
thankyou so much sir
Thank you sir for these lectures
Michael O'Halloran's superior in this is Principal Prickley. Prickley's counting on O'Halloran to save the day!
Hello professor, At time 7:40, you talk about some exception and site specific ground motion procedure, my model have S1 >0.2 and Time period, T <Ts, site class E( which lies in the set 3 and also in the 3rd category of exceptions). The which method I need to use, chapter 11, or chapter 21. I am looking forward for your response. Thanks
Great video as usual sir.
Excellent way of presenting the ideas of structures. Thanks Sir.
the PM curve option is not activated, what might be the reason??
Hi sir, if I have inclined rafter fixed to the column, and below of it there is a beam, in actual the beam is rested below the rafter casue of end plate connection between the rafter and column so, shall I move the beam it self to how much it is beneath the rafter? or shall I use the link command to join between the below beam and rafter??
excellent sir
Love you Sir
Nice explanation Sir. I had this idea that when we plot the response spectra of an SDOF subjected to various earthquakes on a single graph, the ordinates of the envelope of all those spectra are called spectral acceleration.
sir can you explain yield line method for slab equivalent frame method ,strut and tie method finite element method ,linear static method ,non linear ststic method
Please make a video about the changes between ASCE 7-16 to 22 for seismic 😊
Thank you, sir, for explaining in a detailed manner. Is it possible in future can we design wind with nonlinearity with some level of dictility ?
Sir. Where i can download acse book
RIP Dabney Coleman
so helpfull! thank you!!
Thanks a lot sir.....lots of love from India.Your information is the most effective to me.
Thank you for clear explanation sir
Just reading out what is in your slides doesnt help, explain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You mix your word often which makes no sense, work on forming english sentences
RIP Dabney Coleman
Thank you for this informative video. It's the first time someone's explained in simple language the difference between deterministic and probabilistic assessments of PGA (31:35)
Sir Response spectrum of building code which is plot by a eqation. In this spectrum, what we tell that the spectrum is MCE or DBE Level?
Great way of explaining nonlinear analysis in a most simple and technical manner.
Dear sir we have need of your notes please provide us ur hand written notes
Sir we have need of your handwritten notes
Sir we have need to ur hand written notes how we get ....
Million gallons of water = about 8 million pounds…in a high rise building.
where can we get this pdf file?
I remember seeing this in the theaters in 1974. Back when there were no multiplexes. Just one auditorium with a giant screen. Predated Star Wars by 3 years. It was so thrilling. Steve McQueen was one cool cat.
Thanks for your sharing! Can you plain about return period years please?
RIP Dabney Coleman! I do wanna say I really enjoyed his acting.
Sir, Thank you very much for these clear informations and explanations!! It will be very useful for my msc thesis!
Very informative video

can't m50% can be found by ln(0.5)/(2*pi) = 0.11 then divide it by zai?
R.I.P. to Dabney Coleman(SFFD Deputy Chief #1) at 0:08-1:55.
When I heard Dabney Coleman passed away, I thought of this part. He was excellent. Steve McQueen too of course. Weight & seriousness you just dont see in movies anymore.
RIP Dabney Coleman
Very well explained professor
